Wheeler County K-12

Project Description:

Wheeler County is combining their school facilities into one K-12 building. Altman + Barrett has taken careful consideration in the planning and design process to ensure that the different grade levels are separated while being united under one roof. The new school will be constructed on the same site of their current high school. After construction of new school is complete, demolition of existing high school will begin. This phased project ensures the safety of faculty and students and allows the construction process to stay on schedule.

Community Environments
For this K-12, the Main Lobby is the first stop for all visitors, parents, students, teachers, and administrators. As such, it is imperative that safety is a crucial focus behind the design while still crafting a space that represents the aesthetics of the community.
Multi-Use Spaces
Not only does Wheeler K-12 have full competition athletic spaces, but the unique design of this campus allowed for an additional multi-function space that serves K-8 physical education, events, and other activities.
